Lodging

Racers and visitors are encouraged to make lodging reservations early.  There are many events in and around the Laramie area and lodging disappears quickly.  When making reservations, ask for the rooms reserved under "Dead Dog Classic" or use the special confirmation number listed with the hotel.

Each year we try to make special accommodations for last-minute lodging shoppers, in addition to a camping option if you want to camp. We highly recommend bringing a sleeping bag with you if you wait too long to make reservations!  Also, bring mosquito repellant!

Visit the Albany County Tourism Board for more lodging information

Camping In Medicine Bow National Forest

Information about National Forest campground areas is available from the U.S. Forest Service. Click on "Camping" on the "Camping and Picnicking" section, then scroll down to the Laramie Ranger District. Campgrounds near Albany are Rob Roy and Lake Owen (no reservable spaces). Campgrounds near Libby Creek are reported to be the most scenic: Aspen, Pine, Spruce, and Willow (Willow has some reservable spaces). North Fork is a little farther up from Libby Creek, and has reservable spaces.

For other accommodation options, please contact the Albany County Tourism Board at
1-800-445-5303 or 1-307-745-4195.
