Snowy Range Road Race
(see race bible for specific details)
Neutral Feed Zones:
Beginning in Albany, Wyoming, at 8,400 feet, a gradual
downhill run of 7 miles leads to rolling hills and the
low point of the race at 7,500 feet. After turning west
(left) onto Hwy 130, the race climbs gently to
Centennial, Wyoming, then a short steep climb to the
USFS visitor’s center. After a brief descent along
Highway 130 to 8,700 feet, the race starts its toughest
climb. Rising 2,400 feet in about 9 miles, with most of
the steepest climbing in the first 4 miles, the race
tops out at Snowy Range Pass, at 10,800 lung-searing
feet. From there the course descends sharply for about a
mile, levels out for the next 4 miles and then gradually
descends to Ryan Park. From the turnaround at Ryan Park
(8,400 feet), the race follows the same route back to
Albany, Wyoming.
